I would be more likely to participate in a citizens’ assembly if I understood that the purpose of the assembly was clearly defined and that the topics discussed are directly relevant to my life and the community. Knowing that the assembly addresses important issues—whether it's policymaking, community development, or social justice—would make me feel that my involvement could make a real difference. When the topics are meaningful and have the potential to impact society positively, I am more motivated to contribute my time and ideas.

I’d be encouraged to participate if there was transparency about how my input would be used and a clear link between the discussions and tangible outcomes. Knowing that the assembly’s recommendations could lead to real policy changes or community improvements would make the time investment feel worthwhile. Accessible logistics—like convenient timing, location, or online participation options—would also make it easier to commit.

I would be encouraged to participate in a citizen's assembly if there was a diverse method of recruitment to others in the assembly. Knowing that there are methods implemented to ensure a mix of ages, ethnicities, genders, and socio-economic backgrounds promotes greater fairness and inclusion. Further, it would make my voice and the voices of underrepresented groups feel more prominently represented.
