Between 02 and 03 May 2024, the Wirtschaftsuniversität in Vienna, Austria, organised the conference “Linguistic Diversity in Professional Settings:
Needs, Policies and Practices”. Together with Dr Ceimpilo Dladla, Dr Alice Leal – who is the researcher from Wits - University of the Witwatersrand its University, in South Africa, working on the EU-CIEMBLY project – talked about the need to set clear linguistic policies to maintain and foster multilingualism. Linguistic diversity is a crucial factor because access to information constitutes a pre-requisite for democracy. In our EU-CIEMBLY project, Wits University ensures that all aspects pertaining to language are handled with care to provide inclusion and democracy.
